Many of you may have already set up your goals for the year ahead.
And if you allow me to suddenly throw cold water on you, there are cold, objective data in many countries that show statistically speaking, 80% to 90% of them will not be realized. Forever.
One reason is that they do not “emanate from within”. Wanting to be rich, to be famous, to get promoted, or to have a girlfriend… are often goals that somehow come from a general major value system that is deduced not from oneself but from the general public. Furthermore, it is even worse as they often mistake it as their true desire but actually simply by comparing it with the outside world. You wan to get promoted THAN your peers, or to be richer THAN them? Hell, it’s a work of comparison!
Then, ASPIRATION is overwhelmingly absent. As a result, your motivation is not backed by your PASSION. It can’t be, can it? To use a metaphor, it could be like building a beautiful car at a good factory, but forgetting to put in the engine.
You need to “engineer the inside” of the car, not the “outside. Please read on for some tips.
「1年の計は元旦にあり」と言いまして、今年の分を既に設定された方も多いのではないでしょうか 。
そして、いきなり冷や水を浴びせますと、統計的に見てその80%から90%は実現できないという冷たいデータが各国にあります。
1つの理由は、それらが「内側から発せられもの」ではないということ。金持ちになりたい、有名になりたい、昇進したい、恋人が欲しい…というのは、自分ではなく一般的なメジャーな価値観からなんとなく演繹されて出てきた目標であることが多いです。さらに言えば、その目線でしかも外部と比較して「自分の欲しいもの」と勘違いするのだからたちが悪い。同期の誰よりも早く出征したい、奴よりは金持ちになりたい…なんて、典型的です。
それだと、aspirationが圧倒的にない。その結果、passionに裏付けされたモチベーションにならない。なるはずもないえすよね。喩えて言えば、すごくきれいな自動車を工場で作ったんですけど、実はエンジンを積み忘れた、ということになりかねません。
やはり「外側」ではなく、「内側をエンジニアリング」する必要があるんですよね 。いくつかのヒントが書かれていますので、どうぞお読みあれ。
